How to Get Noticed in Siri Local Searches

Last updated: Digital Marketing 2 min read
Wildly popular among iPhone users, Apple’s voice-operated assistant, Siri, is a fantastic avenue for mobile marketing especially for locally based businesses. According to Search Engine Land editor Danny Sullivan, Siri most often references Yelp.com when returning local search results. So if you want to help ensure your business is found for local searches, make sure your Yelp listing is strong. This means you will need to pay closer attention to managing your online reputation.

Tips to help improve your Yelp (and thus, Siri) listing:

Siri TheeDigital Include your complete physical address: street, city, state, and zip code (a PO Box will do you little good). Include your complete phone number with area code. Include your website, beginning with the https://www. so that it is easier for a smartphone to recognize the web address as a link and allow the user to click on it and be directed to your website. Include a detailed list of your business hours. Include any parking information (i.e. private lot, parking on the street, parking deck). Include your business category. Like “restaurant” for example. This will help improve your chances of being found when someone asks Siri “Where is the nearest restaurant?” Include reviews. Ask customers to leave you a review on Yelp. If they prefer not to use Yelp (because they don’t have a Yelp account, or don’t want to create one), the second best option is to ask if they can post a review on Google instead.
